Tie Your Shoes
Two snakes escaped from the zoo and lived in the holes in my shoe! In and out they twisted and fought, Till their tails were tied in a knot.
Teaching preschoolers to tie their shoes is a difficult task but once mastered, a true milestone in their lives. It takes the patience of both the child and the person doing the teaching. And remember, practice, practice, practice !
Traditional Single Loop Method
Teach the child to tie in the traditional single loop method, but as you go through the motions say, “loop it, swoop it, pull.” Do this over and over while repeating the same three, simple instructions until your child is able to tie his shoes on his own. Encourage him to say “loop it, swoop it, pull” each time he attempts tying his shoes until it becomes second nature.
Bunny Ears Method
For the bunny ears method, pull the laces up to tighten them, Cross laces and pull one under the other, Make 2 bunny ears, Cross the bunny ears, Loop one ear over the other one, Then pull it thru and then pull it tight.
